Double D Saloon

The Double D Saloon is definitely different from other Butler Street bars.  It's not a hipster cool place and it's not an old man bar. A patron at Hambone's called it "the South Side bar of Lawrenceville." That doesn't seem quite right, either, though.  And, even though it's unfair, J's notes say "yinzer Coyote Ugly."

Everything is painted black and weirdly lit.  There are lots of cheap booze options (Jagermeister, Black Haus, and Rumple Mintze shot machines?!?  So much variety, so much vomiting!) and neon straws.  The bartender was a really young and completely disinterested girl wearing stretch pants with the "PINK" logo written in glitter on them. Are we painting a picture?

Having said all of that, it didn't seem like a terrible place. The beer selection was surprisingly good and it wasn't pricey. There's a DJ on the weekends, but it still wasn't too packed or too loud when we were there on a Friday night. The patrons seemed to mostly just be there to hang out with friends and have a few drinks. There's not much really recommending it, but there's nothing to keep you away, either.
