Caliente looks more like a
pizza shop than a bar from the outside. Once inside, though, it's more
bar than pizza shop. Confounding!
Really, it's a surprisingly nice place. They've got a long wood bar with bar rails (something we're coming to really notice and appreciate) and have
an amazing beer selection. There are drink specials every night. Monday
night was $1 off Dogfish Head and $3 Jack Daniels, so that was a perfect night for us!They have music some nights, ranging anywhere from jazz trio to pounding dance music. There's really not much exciting to say about it, though. After Pollock's, we were just happy to be somewhere that didn't smell. If you're in the neighborhood, it is definitely one of your best options. Should you go out of your way to go there? Eh. To be fair, we did not sample the pizza, so maybe that would have won us over completely.
One complaint: if you suggest a beer that is over $6, tell the patron. It sucks to order a surprise $9 beer.

Very ambitious endeavor!! Definitely adding you guys to my reader. I like other bloggers who make improbable but admirable yearly goals :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks Fox. It does seem like more and more of an impossible task, but we're dedicated to trying!
