Round Corner Cantina

Round Corner Cantina is the place that ended J's long run of vegetarianism. Don't misunderstand; it was not underhanded. There was no surprise meat hiding in the salsa, no slight of hand bacon garnish. It's not even that they don't offer a selection of delicious vegetarian tacos, they do. It was a summer afternoon on their enormous back patio. The sun was shining, the margaritas were flowing, and J just couldn't ignore the delicious smell of their chorizo anymore. And she never looked back. Countless animals can blame Cantina for their eventual demise at J's hands.

The tacos are delicious, the drinks flavorful, the space lovely. It is a little on the pricey side, but there are nightly specials to ease the strain on your wallet. Really, the only downside to Cantina is how frequently it is packed. You can push your way through the throng at the front bar and the bottleneck in the hallway with hope still glimmering that there is space for you in the back room or on the patio. Sometimes you're right, but most of the time you're wrong. Obviously, it varies by night and by season and by hour. Like most things in life, it is unpredictable. The good news is, if you can't find a place to sit or stand here, there are plenty of other bars nearby. The bad news is that none of them will give you a chorizo taco or a Michelada Mexicana.

We would never wish less business for an establishment that we like, but it sure would be nice to get a seat at the bar.
