There Ultra Lounge

We have an immediate dislike of places that call themselves "Ultra Lounge," so we’re just getting that out right at the start. Oh, you’re just so much more than a regular bar? You're just so far beyond what other bars can hope to be? Blah. J literally cringed and had to be pushed into the bar. Imagine that, J needing to be pushed into a bar.

It was pretty empty the night we were there, but we heard it gets packed on some nights. There's a second space upstairs, but it’s only open for events. Also, it was really dark in there. Possibly it was ultra-dark, but it’s hard to say.

Nothing was going on there, and we mean nothing. Some regulars working on their laptops at the bar, others watching The Voice on TV(A thinks Christina Aguilera looks good now-a-days).  Drinks were reasonably priced and the bathrooms were clean, although they were, like the rest of the bar, ultra-dark and a little bit creepy.


So, while we can't really give you an idea of what this place is like on a hopping Thursday through Saturday night, we can say that it was just OK on a Monday. Nothing good or bad happened, it just was. It seemed especially underwhelming since we had just gone to two bars that impressed us: Images and 941 Saloon. Given that they're all in the same block, we would give one of those a go first.
